Jamie Purinton and Matthew Potteiger facilitated workshops where the community shared their experience and memories of Newtown Creek, as well as their visions for change. Purinton and Potteiger developed design practices that express the unique qualities and cultural activities of this industrial working landscape. They also developed alternative site designs for a waterfront site that will provide public access, tell the industrial history and filter polluted waters through vegetated buffers.
